About the event
A cacao ceremony is an invocation of the spirit of cacao and the four sacred elements earth, water, fire and air. We drink cacao to meditate and to express gratitude for all that we have and all that we are. The flood of oxygen and magnesium to the brain and body creates that open feeling of relaxation. Cacao in conjunction with sound therapy and added breathwork offer the recipients the opportunity to take an active role in their own healing and growth- opening the doors to self expression and contentment.Â
The ceremony will be led by Brittany Simone Anderson, a New York-based movement teacher, and a sound therapist, and ceremonialist and followed by Shabbat Dinner.
 Â
Brittany Simone Anderson believes that wellness is our birthright, and as such, we must take our wellbeing in our own hands. Â Through a combination of breathwork, meditation, intelligent movement, and nourishment we can unify the severed mind-body-soul connection. Brittany teaches yoga classes in Manhattan at Equinox, Pure Yoga, and Woom Center and leads workshops and private sound ceremony around the city. She completed her 200-hour YTT at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in NYC and continues to study and expand her knowledge at Woom Center and the Prema Yoga Institute. Her mentors include Francesca Bove, Elian and David Shemesh, and Justin Ritchie.
