Hannah Simpson (she/היא) is a nationally known writer, public speaker, standup comic, and past FED guest educator who joyfully intersects and dissects progressive politics, Judaism, and the realities of transgender identity. She has led LGBTQ+ Birthright buses, been the featured keynote for the Women’s March in NYC, and worked throughout the pandemic has in COVID-19 ICUs as a patient care technician. She even stepped up to help load and unload the infamous refrigerated trailers at a local city morgue because a fellow New Yorker would have had to do the same for her were the tables turned.
Hannah studied Biomedical Engineering at Boston University, and one year when local stores had sold out of electronic menorahs she needed for her dorm room (candles were strictly prohibited), she realized she could build her own instead and teach her Jewish classmates at Hillel to as well in what became a truly electrifying and illuminating original social event.
