About Your Host, Benji Marx:
Benji Marx explores sonic possibilities of modern composition to create a richly layered sound, while remaining firmly rooted in the intimate acoustic songwriting styles of folk singers such as Joni Mitchell, Jim Croce, and Jackson Browne.
If your music reveals who you are, then the music of Benji Marx speaks of a vulnerable heart navigating the full gamut of inexplicable joys and sorrows. Reckoning with the hard truth that all beautiful things must pass, he avoids treating this realization with the usual bromides of avoidance, irony or nihilism. He confronts them head-on, reaching for connection and compassion in those moments when the heart would rather fail us. Currently he is working on Master’s in Music Therapy and SUNY New Paltz.
