Screaming into Motion

Screaming into Motion gathers a small group around a table to share food and question the infinite. The dialogue begins by following writer and performer Lawrence Dreyfuss' experience growing up in a Jewish home as he pushes away from the religious practices of his community and explores new possibilities. Teenage rebellion grows into a yearning for adventure which is met with heartbreak, the stark face of depression, and an ever changing relationship with the infinite. Through it all, the questions of spirituality and a search for meaning persist.

Over the course of the evening, audience members share a meal, exchange stories, and discuss their relationship to the concept of God. This immersive conversation reaches for meaning and community in the midst of a world lost in questions. 

With thanks to the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation Grassroots Events program, FED is thrilled to be able to offer two ways to take part in this discussion. Three small conversations will gather an intimate group of 10 participants around the table. Then, the table will be expanded to a larger group of 40.
