Shavuot Retreat at Floating Tower

According to the Midrash, the Israelites slept so deeply the night before the Torah was revealed at Mount Sinai that they had to be awakened with thunder and lightning.

On Friday, we will arrive and have a Friday night dinner together. On Saturday, we will tour area attractions, have guest speakers lead activities, and build connections between our group. On Saturday night, we will engage in a Shavuot learning program powered by FEEDBack, FED’s artistic cohort that generates participatory creativity and theater. On Sunday, we will go on a hike to a natural bridge park with cascade waterfalls, where Mátti Kovler and members of Floating Tower will lead a meditation and niggun workshop. Sunday night will culminate with a bonfire.

The event offers participants the opportunity to engage with the Jewish holiday of Shavuot through a cultural lens. FED and Floating Tower both have very innovative and potentially transformative approaches to cultural Judaism, allowing participants to experience Jewish concepts and art that they may not have thought about previously. This content brings attention in a special way to the holiday of Shavuot.
