About the event

About The Lost Shtetl:

What if there was a town that history missed?

For decades, the tiny Jewish shtetl of Kreskol existed in happy isolation, virtually untouched and unchanged. Spared by the Holocaust and the Cold War, its residents enjoyed remarkable peace. It missed out on cars, and electricity, and the internet, and indoor plumbing. But when a marriage dispute spins out of control, the whole town comes crashing into the twenty-first century.

The Lost Shtetl won a 2020 National Jewish Book Award, was awarded the Association of Jewish Libraries Jewish Fiction Award, was named by the New York Post and Hadassah Magazine one of the best books of 2020, and was on Good Morning America's Must Read Books.

Max Gross lives in Forest Hills with his wife and son, and is the editor of Commercial Observer.

The price of the paperback is $17.99.
