About the event
Sunday, August 7 is Tisha B'Av, a Jewish day of fasting and mourning for the destruction of the Second Temple, and other calamities that have befallen the Jewish people and world. It's a sad, serious day... and it also contains in it the seeds of our redemption, as rumor has it that the Messiah will be born on this very afternoon.
You are invited to meet us at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn to uncover the meaning and relevance of this holiday to our own personal lives and in contemporary times. We will reflect, journal, sing kinot (traditional dirges), and write our own new verses for them that speak to the present day.
Please arrive at 2pm on Sunday, August 7 here:

The closest entrance is Sunset Park Entrance (Fourth Avenue and 35th Street), open until 4 pm. There will be no food (it's a fast day, and a cemetery).
Please bring a journal and pen (or digital equivalent) so you can partake in the journaling.
